  • The Sonora Pass Highway crosses the Sierra Nevada north of Yosemite National park and south of Lake Tahoe. This book documents nearly 1500 climbing routes found on and near this highway. These climbs include sport and traditional routes, single and multi-pitch, walls, slabs, and bouldering. "The SPH" is a year-round climbing destinations it has crags at low elevation to the west and others up high, to the east, near the pass itself. The area features a variety of rock types including basalt columns, mixed volcanic rock, and especially, granite.
